
The DVGW vocational training centre of the DVGW offers all members and interested persons an extensive programme for education and further training. A network of DVGW members detects the current training needs in the fields of regulation and standardisation, testing and certification, research and development as well as the changing demands for the companies. Members always receive practice-related knowledge.
There are three different DVGW offers for training:
- DVGW Forum: Nation-wide events with up-to-date information from the branch
- DVGW Job training: Job and further training
- DVGW Regional: Events organised by the DVGW regional groups

Professional development and communications – Qualification assurance in the gas and water sector
The DVGW’s training and advanced training program every year meets the requirements of approx. 25,000 participants and is made available via the Internet or for members via the Internet-based personnel development tool QUA.SI and is updated almost daily. It comprises the entire range of topics in the gas and water supply. As in previous years, participating specialists and executives again rated the approximately 800 information events, seminars and specialist conventions as up-to-date, practical and very well organized.
Highly beneficial range of courses
Companies in the utility industry have adapted to the new market conditions with structural in-house changes. This inevitably involves new challenges for the employees and increases the search for a reasonable investment into qualified advanced training. Given the high density of services, advanced training selected at random no longer supplies the required results. The DVGW has therefore adapted its entire range of vocational training courses to the industry’s changed requirements and has provided them with a modular structure. At the same time, all relevant developments and innovations both in standardization and in engineering are taken up and are communicated competently and promptly. Apart from holding these events, the focus in 2007 was on the compilation of additional offers and services that are of great benefit to the members.
