DVGW office in Brussels

DVGW Deutsche Vereinigung des Gas- und Wasserfaches e.V., Bonn has opened an office in Brussels. With headquarters in Bonn and offices in Berlin and Brussels, DVGW is now represented at all locations relevant for decision-making processes.

European integration and harmonization processes are making rapid progress. This applies to both European legislation and to standards. Organizations wishing to contribute their expertise and proven systems to these harmonization processes need to make use of local networks in two respects: first, cooperation on European bodies is becoming increasingly important. DVGW intends to intensify its involvement in this area. Secondly, where European associations fail to reach a consensus, national positions must be presented clearly to European institutions, especially the European Commission and the European Parliament.

It is also necessary to present matters of considerable practical importance in a clear and comprehensible way, to analyse consequences and to identify options for action and adaptation strategies.
