The brand-new English brochure “Biogas to biomethane” outlines important technical and legal aspects, in order to serve the growing international interest in biomethane plants and utilisation concepts. It is published by the German Biogas Association (Fachverband Biogas) in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the European Biogas Association (EBA) and the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (DVGW). “Therefore, this publication it is an essential source of information for anyone involved in planning, construction or operation of biomethane plants worldwide" explains Manuel Maciejczyk, co-author of the publication and Chief Operating Officer of the German Biogas Association.

The brochure is basically divided into two main sections: Firstly, the basics of biogas and biomethane production, its application in the natural gas grid, in high-pressure cylinders and in the transport sector as well as technical and legal conditions within European and German contexts are discussed. The first section then concludes with an overview of the various partnership and financing options for biomethane projects in developing and emerging economies.

Secondly, eleven international reference plants and 23 profiles from companies experienced in biomethane plant construction, project development, as well as component and process auxiliary production are presented, so that suitable partners with appropriate expertise can be identified for future biomethane projects. “The publication aims at sharing experience gained and contributing to the safe and efficient production and use of biomethane”, says Maciejczyk.

Biogas to biomethane can be viewed online or downloaded under www.biogas-to-biomethane.com and ordered as print version from the German biogas association (www.biogas.org)."
